Job Description

Goods Receiver (Supermarket)

Location: Kakkattil, Kulangarath

Job Summary

Day Mart Supermarket is looking for a Receiver with prior experience in the supermarket or retail sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for receiving, verifying, and recording incoming goods, ensuring accuracy, quality, and compliance with company standards. Candidates with previous experience as a Receiver in a supermarket or hypermarket will be given preference.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive all incoming goods, materials, and supplies from vendors and distributors.
• Verify delivered items against purchase orders, invoices, and delivery challans.
• Check quantity, quality, expiry dates, and packaging condition of goods received.
• Report shortages, damages, or discrepancies immediately to the Store Manager / Inventory Team.
• Ensure proper tagging, labeling, and documentation of received items.
• Coordinate with inventory, accounts, and store teams for accurate stock updates.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the receiving and storage area.
• Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) practices and company inventory procedures.
• Support stock movement, internal transfers, and periodic stock audits.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and hygiene guidelines.

Eligibility & Requirements

• Minimum 1–3 years of experience in a supermarket, hypermarket, or retail store.
• Previous experience as a Receiver is highly preferred.
• Basic knowledge of inventory control, stock handling, and documentation.
• Ability to read invoices, delivery notes, and product labels.
• Physically fit to handle loading, unloading, and movement of goods.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
• Willingness to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays if required.
