Job Description
Optum is seeking an Associate Medical Coder to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for coding medical records to accurately index critical medical information, ensuring proper hospital reimbursement and supporting governmental planning efforts. You will process both inpatient and outpatient records daily while maintaining a high accuracy rate of 95% in ICD-10 and/or CPT-4 codes.
Your role will also involve participating in coding meetings for continuous skill enhancement, demonstrating flexibility in your work schedule, and developing collaborative relationships with hospital staff. Ideal candidates must hold a degree and possess certification from AAPC or AHIMA, along with additional coding certifications such as CPC, CCS, CIC, or COC.
