Job Description
This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of product, process, and luxury execution, and who has a strong understanding of premium materials, vendor management, and margin-driven merchandising.
Key Responsibilities
Merchandising & Product Strategy
- Support seasonal line planning and product assortment development aligned with brand vision, customer insights, and business targets
- Assist in building and maintaining assortment plans by category, delivery, price point, and margin goals
- Track product performance and provide input on reorders, replenishment strategies, and future buys
- Partner with Design and Sales teams to ensure product selection supports market demand and brand positioning
- Maintain SKU-level accuracy across product catalogs, assortments, and internal systems
Production & Development Management
- Manage seasonal production calendars and ensure development and bulk milestones are met.
- Coordinate with factories and vendors to ensure on-time execution of sampling and production runs
- Review and track all production details including: BOMs, tech packs, costing sheets, and production status reports
- Monitor approvals for lab dips, strike-offs, trims, fabrics, embroidery, and wash development
- Ensure all products meet luxury quality standards through proactive communication and QC follow-up
Costing, Margins & Vendor Communication
- Support initial and updated costing for all styles across development and production
- Partner with cross-functional teams to manage target costs while maintaining elevated quality standards
- Negotiate with vendors when appropriate to achieve best pricing, lead times, and production outcomes
- Analyze and track material and labor costs; flag risk areas early (yield increases, material changes, surcharges)
Production Tracking & Logistics Coordination
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date production WIPs including timelines, PO updates, and shipment details
- Coordinate with logistics partners and internal teams to track freight, delivery windows, and warehouse receiving needs
- Resolve production issues quickly (delays, fabric shortages, quality concerns) and communicate solutions clearly
- Support purchase order issuance and follow-through to delivery completion
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Design, Technical Design, Sales, Operations, and Marketing teams to ensure cohesive execution
- Ensure product details, delivery timing, and production status are communicated clearly across departments
- Assist in preparing for line reviews, market appointments, and seasonal product launches
Qualifications & Experience
- 3–6+ years experience in apparel merchandising, production, or product development (luxury or premium women’s wear strongly preferred)
- Strong understanding of luxury construction, fabrication, garment finishing, and fit standards
- Experience managing domestic and/or overseas production
- Proven ability to manage multiple styles and categories simultaneously in fast-paced seasonal cycles
- Excellent organizational and communication skills with strong attention to detail
- Advanced proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets (WIP tracking, costing, line sheets, category summaries.
- Ability to partner with vendors and cross-functional stakeholders with confidence and professionalism
